hello from turkey

So I am here in Turkey, the Cappadocia region. And no sign of protests. Lots of tourists, though. I have been here two days and already the large groups are annoying. But they can be entertaining in a people watching kind of way. Just as I am sure others find it entertaining to see me harassed by Turkish men. I need to remember that Karma really can be vindictive sometimes….

In my two days, I have eaten a turkey sandwich, seen many many rock formations (including phallic ones and a camel one), broke a clay pot, was offered a meal and a massage, drank champagne at 6:30 in the morning, and got some guy’s phone number. I’ve been busy.

This is the view from my hotel:

Not so jealous of the creepy guys though! Hopefully they don’t get in your way too much!

Glad your swimming in tourists rather than protestors! They’re annoying but far more benign!

Did you have to pay for the pot?

  2. you have been busy!! How many camels did this guy offer you along with his phone number? Remember, don’t settle, hold out for the highest bidder!! Enjoy your adventure; loving the updates!

  3. Happy to hear you are safe! And I have heard about the men in Turkey….I know it is entertaining rejecting them/getting their phone numbers but just be careful as sometimes these dudes can turn quickly. That is my not asked for advice. 🙂
